Since the introduction of liquid soaps and shower gels, normal soap has been on the decline. Nowadays very few people use bar soaps, even though they're the most natural and environmentally friendly option…and tend to also be better for your skin. On the contrary, shower gels and liquid soaps stress your skin and can be harmful to the environment.
Common liquid soaps and shower gels can irritate the skin and harm the environment.
The main ingredient in liquid soaps, shower gels and shampoos is water. In addition, they contain detergents along with surfactants, foaming agents, emulsifiers, colouring and fragrances as well as preservatives. When developing such products, the primary concerns of the manufacturers are cheap production, maximal cleaning strength and ease of use. Unfortunately compromises are made in terms of impacts on the skin and on the environment.
Have a look at the label and check out the ingredients of your soap.
So you might be asking yourself why there would be questionable ingredients in cleaning products as well as skin care products. The reason is that its more inexpensive to acquire artificial ingredients, and they are also less complicated to work with. In addition, such ingredients promote desirable qualities like a nice small, a lot of bubbles or a long shelf life.
The list of the most commonly used ingredients is long, and also often not so understandable to non-scientists:
- Shower gels, soaps: diethanolamine, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, parabens
- Shampoos: diethanolamine, diethylphthalate, LAS surfactants, oxybenzone, propylene glycol, lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate
Many of these ingredients have been thoroughly criticised as they are suspected skin irritants or may even cause cancer. One can of course object and say that its the dosage that makes something dangerous. Thanks to the hygiene demand of the modern world, our level of daily contact with such substances should not be underestimated.
Our recommendation: Find a more natural alternative!
Natural fangocur soaps are the best alternative to liquid soaps and shower gels!
Keep in mind that bar soaps also contain artificial ingredients. This is why it's important to look for truly natural soaps. The most gentle way to clean the skin is through the use of healing clay in a natural soap. Our soaps are 100% natural and contain healing clay…and they are also environmentally friendly as they break down into unproblematic constituents.
The natural soaps from fangocur do not dry the skin – in fact they help in preventing irritation.
The alkaline (basic) effects of our soaps mean that they encourage hydration in the surface layers of the skin, and this effect lasts for two to three hours. This is time enough for the skin to restore its natural water-lipid balance, thus further protecting the skin from drying. One benefit of such balance in the skin is that the development of spots and inflammation is prevented.
Our natural soaps are handmade from bio ingredients of the highest quality available. Our soap making process is thoroughly monitored; fangocur soaps are allowed to mature for six weeks.
Use natural fangocur soap – good for your skin and for the environment!
