Bentomed MICRO for Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis is a kind of inflammatory bowel disease or IBD. This condition typically has phases that include intense diarrhea and abdominal pain with cramping when passing stool. There are also phases in which one is partially or entirely free of symptoms. It thus occurs in "flare-ups" – the intensity and duration of such phases varies a lot from person to person. The areas affected by the condition includes only the colon and the rectum.
How Bentomed MICRO Works
The primary ingredient in Bentomed is Gossendorf fango healing clay that comes from a formerly volcanic region in the south-east of Austria. The area where it is gathered is privately owned and under legal protection. Bentomed also contains barley and natural herbal essences.
High Binding Capacity
Gossendorf fango has a unique characteristic: it binds to excess fluid and toxins in the intestinal tract, encouraging them to be passed naturally in the stool. This encourages the return of stool of normal consistency. Gossendorf healing clay is made up of very small particles with a very large surface area as well as a great number of tiny canals within – these canals equate to even more surface area. A single gramme of dry healing clay has a specific surface area of over 10 square metres. If Gossendorf fang clay binds with water, the result is a so-called welling up of the clay leading to a further increase in the surface area. In this state, the inner and outer surface amounts to over 500 square meters. The more surface area there is, the more effective the healing clay is at binding to excess fluids and harmful substances.
Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Bacterial Effects
The anti-inflammatory effect of sulfur has been known since antiquity. Even today people are familiar with ways in which sulfur can be used, for example a sulfur bath as a therapy for specific skin conditions. Not so many people are familiar with the fact that sulfur is also respected in the world of medicine. Recent studies show that when used internally, sulfur has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects. Gossendorf fango healing clay contains sulfur in the form of sulfur trioxide (SO3); this is the form that the body can use best.
Selective Ion Exchange Detoxifies the Body While Providing Nutrients
The unique crystal structure of fango healing clay means that it has a strong tendency to attract specific harmful substances in the body including toxins, biological micro and macro elements, and heavy metals. In an exchange process, positively charge ions like Mg++, Ca++, K+ and Na+ which are present in the crystal structure are taken up by the body. Harmful substances are bound to the healing clay, and essential mineral are left behind. In scientific literature, this effect is known as ion exchange. The harmful substance that have been taken up by the clay are then passed in the stool. This relieve strain on the lining of the colon through the removal of toxins while encouraging regeneration thanks to the minerals present.
Barley Delivers a Wealth of Vital Nutrients
Due to the wealth of essential nutrients it contains, barley is among the most valuable of foodstuffs in the world. More than 40 years ago, the Japanese scientist Dr Yoshihide Hagiwara conducted research on more than 250 foods that contain chlorophyll. He found that barley contains more nutrients than any other plant. Barley is among the most studied food crops – it provides of true cornucopia of essential nutrients. It contains calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C, iron, potassium, vitamin E, vitamin K, folic acid, pantothenic acid, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, zinc, sulfur, copper, selenium, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and silicon. Barley also contains chlorophyll along with important enzymes that act as antioxidants and amino acids. One should keep in mind that barley contains all of these nutrients in their natural forms so that they can be optimally made use of by the body. It's been scientifically proven that barley provides the body with essential nutrients, a deficiency of which can lead to illness.
